Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and contributing to weekly planning and contract review meetings.
  • Producing NEC3/NEC4-compliant reports and programme updates.
  • Monitoring project progress, performance and milestones, including Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting.
  • Developing and maintaining site planning schedules and phasing plans.
  • Ensuring accurate communication of programme status and key updates to stakeholders.
  • Supporting senior planning professionals while taking ownership of allocated project responsibilities.

This is a hybrid opportunity suited to candidates based in the North West or North Wales, with regular site visits required.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous planning experience within the infrastructure, utilities or energy sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts and reporting requirements.
  • Experience in programme management, project controls, progress monitoring and reporting.
  • Knowledge and application of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
  • Proficiency with planning tools, particularly Primavera P6.
  • Experience using Aphex software.
  • Exposure to GIS tools would be advantageous.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively across multiple projects and locations in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and accountable approach to work.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.

Candidates with experience on National Grid, HV electrical or substation projects will be particularly well suited to this opportunity.

  • Exposure to major National Grid and energy network projects.
  • Hybrid working arrangements.
