The Role

As a Senior CAD Technician, you will work alongside Design Engineers and the wider design team to produce high-quality engineering drawings and models across a range of water infrastructure projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing accurate engineering drawings and Civil 3D models to programme and budget.
  • Working closely with Design Engineers to develop and deliver design drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Producing drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D, ensuring compliance with company, industry and client standards.
  • Applying standard details, templates and design standards to produce consistent, high-quality deliverables.
  • Working in accordance with established design processes, quality procedures and document control systems.
  • Using Project Wise and other document management systems to manage project documentation.
  • Managing your workload, accurately recording time and assisting with estimating CAD task durations.
  • Reviewing drawings to minimise rework while maintaining quality throughout the design process.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to the continuous improvement of CAD standards and best practice.

About You
Essential

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a CAD Technician or similar role.
  • Strong experience using AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Good understanding of engineering principles and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable

  • HNC (or higher) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience delivering projects within the regulated water sector or wider utilities/infrastructure sectors.
  • Working knowledge of relevant CAD standards and engineering drawing practices.
  • Experience using Project Wise or similar document management software.
  • Experience using Revit and producing reinforcement drawings/bar bending schedules.
