Process Engineer - Chemical Client: BAE Systems

Location:

Glascoed, NP15 1XL
Contract Length: 12 months Hybrid: 3 /4 time per week on site 37 hours per week Rate: £33.00 PAYE or £44.40 Umbrella inside IR35

Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong manufacturing and process development background who enjoys solving complex engineering problems, working collaboratively across functions and delivering robust, safe and capable production processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement new manufacturing processes in line with engineering plans, budgets and customer requirements.
  • Take manufacturing processes from concept and development through commissioning and qualification.
  • Provide process engineering expertise across multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Identify, manage and maintain process technical requirements.
  • Support system integration and ensure manufacturing processes are robust, reliable and fit for purpose.
  • Develop and maintain process controls, including Lean principles, Process Control Plans and PFMEAs.
  • Support process capability studies and the use of statistical techniques to establish and maintain stable production processes.
  • Specify, develop and qualify new manufacturing equipment in collaboration with suppliers and engineering teams.
Key Skills
  • HNC, HND, degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience with in manufacturing, process engineering or a related engineering environment.
  • Demonstrable experience developing and improving manufacturing processes.
  • An understanding of project and risk management principles and associated tools and techniques.
  • Awareness of automated manufacturing controls and process-line technologies.
  • A good understanding of manufacturing engineering principles and techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
