Process Engineer - Chemical Client: BAE Systems
Location:
Glascoed, NP15 1XL
Contract Length: 12 months Hybrid: 3 /4 time per week on site 37 hours per week Rate: £33.00 PAYE or £44.40 Umbrella inside IR35 Overview This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong manufacturing and process development background who enjoys solving complex engineering problems, working collaboratively across functions and delivering robust, safe and capable production processes.
Key Responsibilities Develop and implement new manufacturing processes in line with engineering plans, budgets and customer requirements. Take manufacturing processes from concept and development through commissioning and qualification. Provide process engineering expertise across multi-disciplinary project teams. Identify, manage and maintain process technical requirements. Support system integration and ensure manufacturing processes are robust, reliable and fit for purpose. Develop and maintain process controls, including Lean principles, Process Control Plans and PFMEAs.
Support process capability studies and the use of statistical techniques to establish and maintain stable production processes. Specify, develop and qualify new manufacturing equipment in collaboration with suppliers and engineering teams. Key Skills HNC, HND, degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience with in manufacturing, process engineering or a related engineering environment. Demonstrable experience developing and improving manufacturing processes. An understanding of project and risk management principles and associated tools and techniques. Awareness of automated manufacturing controls and process-line technologies. A good understanding of manufacturing engineering principles and techniques. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
