Project Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a Project Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Swindon. This role would suit someone with a strong mechanical engineering background who enjoys the project and customer-facing side of engineering. You will take the lead on projects, working closely with customers and internal teams to ensure projects run smoothly from initial enquiry through to completion.

• Leading mechanical engineering projects from initial enquiry through to completion
• Acting as a key point of contact for customers throughout projects
• Discussing customer requirements and helping develop suitable engineering solutions
• Working closely with internal engineering, design and manufacturing teams
• Managing project timescales, progress and priorities
• Supporting quotations and the sales process from a technical perspective
• Building strong relationships with new and existing customers
• Ensuring projects are delivered on time and to customer requirements
• Providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle

• Strong mechanical engineering background
• Experience leading or coordinating engineering projects
• Comfortable speaking with customers and building relationships
• Commercially aware, with an interest in the sales side of engineering
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Able to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Previous experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
