Design It. Develop It. See It Come to Life.

In its simplest form, this is robot systems design engineering.

Working alongside experienced mechanical, electrical, fabrication and robotics specialists, you'll help design bespoke automated machinery and handling systems, producing accurate 3D models, assemblies and engineering drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

You'll turn engineering concepts into practical, manufacturable designs, maintaining accurate drawings, revisions and engineering data through Autodesk Vault. You'll also work closely with the technical teams building and assembling the machinery, giving you valuable exposure to how your designs perform in the real world.

What You'll Be Getting Involved In

• Producing 3D models and mechanical assemblies using Autodesk Inventor

• Creating and updating manufacturing and engineering drawings in AutoCAD

• Managing drawings, revisions and engineering data through Autodesk Vault

• Supporting the design of bespoke robotic and automation systems

• Developing components and assemblies with manufacture and installation in mind

• Collaborating with mechanical, electrical, fabrication and robotics specialists

• Helping resolve design and manufacturing challenges during build and assembly

• Supporting bills of materials and technical documentation

• Identifying practical design improvements as projects develop

About You

You're likely a recent Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, Mechatronics or similarly relevant engineering graduate, or someone with equivalent technical training ready to begin their design engineering career.

You'll already have practical experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, together with experience or a good understanding of Autodesk Vault / CAD data management. This could have been developed through university, placements, internships, projects or early-career engineering experience.

More importantly, you'll enjoy figuring out how things work. You'll bring good mechanical understanding, attention to detail and a logical approach to problem-solving, along with the commitment and curiosity to keep developing your skills.

University projects, Formula Student, robotics projects, placements or other practical engineering experience will be particularly interesting where they demonstrate your CAD and mechanical design capability.

You'll need a driving licence, be…
