Maintenance Engineer

Maintenance Engineer Cala Consulting are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer for their client based in Chester. The company & the opportunity:
Working as part of the maintenance team the Maintenance Engineer w ill be responsible for ensuring that all machinery, equipment and systems are operating efficiently and effectively to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.

Key Duties:

Carry out routine and unplanned maintenance work and respond to equipment faults;
Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and machinery and arrange procurement of fixtures, fittings and components as required;
Conduct quality inspections on jobs;
Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment;
Monitor and control maintenance costs;
Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs;
Work closely with Senior Management to improve health and safety policies and procedures;
Work as part of a team to ensure the continuous flow of production and operations;
Criteria:
Time-served Mechanical Engineer or Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in a mechanical maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment Strong practical experience with mechanical systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics Basic working knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, CNC, or PC-controlled equipment desirable (mechanical focus remains key) Able to work independently, manage workload effectively, and prioritise maintenance activities Proactive, reliable team player with flexibility to support business needs when required
