6) Civil Engineer - Water – Brighton (2027) The Opportunity
You’ll join our growing team across our South Easternoffices, working alongside experienced engineers and specialists from a range of disciplines. You’llbe supported as you learn how we deliver projects for our local clients and develop the skills needed to build a career in civil engineering.
You’ll have the opportunity to get involved in important clean and wastewater projects, including treatment process upgrades across Southern Water’s operating area. You’ll also support work with local clients on programmes that help improve the quality of our rivers and seas.
Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll receive support from local specialists and our established Developing Professionals Group network, helping you grow your confidence, knowledge and experience as you take the next step in your career.
Key Responsibilities:Support engineering activities from early feasibility through to construction.
Help prepare calculations, analysis, drawings and other technical information.
Learn how to use AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other industry software to help present design solutions for clients.
Assist with reports, presentations, bids and proposals.
Work with project teams and other disciplines to understand how civil engineering projects are planned and delivered.
Attend meetings and workshops with clients and colleagues, where appropriate, to build your understanding of project work.
At Stantec, we offer a high-energy environment that balances fully funded academic study with hands-on, real-world project experience. You will gain a Level 6BEng Civil Engineering degree in conjunction with our Training Provider(s). This will be discussed further during the recruitment process. For this role, training providers could include;

University of Brighton (day release)

Qualifications:For our Level 6 apprenticeship you will need to achieve a minimum of 112 UCAS points, from one of the following:
A level: BBC (excluding General Studies). You must have Mathematics at grade B or above and one other analytical science subject at grade B or above. Analytical science subjects can include Physics, Biology/Human Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Further Mathematics and Design and Technology.
BTEC (Level
3) Extended Diploma: DMM - this must include a Merit or above in Mathematics and Further Mathematics in Construction Units. Accepted courses:
Civil Engineering, Aerospace, Construction and the Built Environment and Mechanical Engineering.For Coventry you will need DDM
Scottish Highers: 4 SQA Higher - A, B, B, B (to include Mathematics, Higher Applications of Mathematics not accepted).
Irish Highers: H3, H3, H3, H3, H3, H4 (at least H3 for Mathematics and one other Analytical Science).
International Baccalaureate: 32/655. HL5 in Mathematics (Analysis and Approaches) and HL5 in another Science subject, including Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Design Technology, Physics, Environmental Systems and Societies.
Other equivalent qualifications may be considered.
