Event Manager / Planner, Customer Service Rep
THE EMPLOYER IS: PORTICO OF ARDS LTDThis job is as Front of House Manager for Portico. The role is to assist the Portico manager in the efficient and safe running of shows including liaising with volunteers and allocating them jobs for each event. The role will also include setting up for shows; carrying out and recording safety checks; dealing with clients’ queries and liaising with the manager on all matters related to the effective and safe running of Portico and of individual shows both in Portico and in other venues.
The successful applicant will also be responsible for liaising with any security and bar staff who may be present for the event.
The Front of House Manager will be responsible for ensuring a warm welcome for all visitors to Portico. They will focus on excellent customer service, access and inclusion and ensure that events are enjoyed safely and securely. They will need to respond to any live situations proactively and confidently coordinate volunteers to provide a wonderful experience for all.
This role will suit a proactive, confident and outgoing individual who has a passion for customer service, eye for detail and a calm head under pressure.
- Ensure Health, safety and security at events for customers, volunteers & performers.
- Managing entry and ticketing.
- Coordinating rotas to ensure adequate coverage.
- Take responsibility for and work to resolve any customer complaints.
- Ensuring the building and all services are clean and serviceable, before, during and after events, resolving or reporting any problems with the building as a matter of urgency.
- Manage the regular servicing and testing of equipment as required.
- Computer skills, particularly: email, word processing and spreadsheet management.
- Proven organisational skills.
- Proven interpersonal skills to deal with other staff, volunteers and patrons.
- The ability to work occasionally in the evenings and at weekends when shows are held in Portico.
- Integrity when dealing with money.
- An innate service attitude and ability to motivate volunteers to offer excellent standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
