Event Manager / Planner, Event Staff/ Venue Crew
A fantastic opportunity to join our growing team and be part of something special at Silchester Farm.
This role is offered on a flexible contract, averaging 20–30 hours per week, with hours varying in line with weddings and events across a 7-day operation. Flexibility is essential, as hours will increase during peak event periods and reduce during quieter times.
Silchester Farm is a stunning events venue set within the rolling Hampshire countryside. The venue features beautifully restored oak-framed barns, offering a unique and contemporary setting for weddings and events hosting up to 140 guests.
We are seeking a candidate with at least two years’ experience in the wedding and events industry. Due to the rural location, a full driving licence is essential.
The Role:- Leading and coordinating front and back of house teams, including setup, bar, and waiting staff
- Managing communication with the kitchen throughout events
- Organising and running all planning meetings with Silchester Farm couples
- Advising clients on event timings, flow, and logistics, while actively upselling food and drink offerings
- Coordinating suppliers to ensure smooth setup and delivery on the event day
- Managing office administration, diary management, and client communication via email and telephone
- Acting as the main point of contact for couples and clients on the event day
- Overseeing food and drink service, including menu planning, dietary requirements, allergens, and customer service standards
- Maintaining social media awareness and industry knowledge
- Hospitalilty professional, with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering outstanding service
- Confidence in managing and leading both front and back of house teams
- A friendly, professional, and approachable personality with strong people skills
- Confidence running large events
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
- A calm, proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
- An understanding of the standards and expectations of luxury events
Required:
- Event Management:
Minimum 2 years
- Whilst not required to apply for the role, a Personal License (or willingness to obtain one) would be beneficial.
