Overview
The National Trust is renowned for its food and hospitality. We run 185 cafes, tea-rooms and restaurants across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we’d love you to join us as a Food and Beverage Team Member. In this role, you’ll help provide a memorable day out for visitors and contribute to a welcoming front-of-house experience.
This location is in a rural area, so please consider your travel arrangements before applying for the job.
ContractContract type: This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. We aim to provide a consistent work pattern, but schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays and does not require evening or split shifts.
Contract duration: Fixed term contract until 31-Jan-2027
Salary: £12.75 per hour

As a Team Member, your main focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people. You’ll welcome and look after everyone who comes to the café. With a positive, can-do attitude and a commitment to excellent service, you’ll help ensure everyone has an enjoyable visit. This is a lively, fast-paced environment where teamwork and adaptability are crucial.
You’ll strive to understand what people want, help them, and make recommendations. You’ll maintain high standards of food and drink preparation and presentation. With attention to detail, you’ll ensure displays and signs are accurate and appealing. At times you may assist the kitchen team with food preparation.
We’ll provide an induction tailored to the job, training in allergens and food safety, and any mentoring needed to support you in your role. There is an opportunity to sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.
