The Opportunity

Northreach is partnering with a specialist property lender to recruit a Bridging Underwriter to join a growing underwriting function. This is a hands-on role where you will manage cases from initial application through to completion, working closely with brokers, solicitors, valuers and internal stakeholders.

The role offers exposure to a broad range of short-term property transactions and suits someone who enjoys balancing credit risk with commercial decision-making in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Assess and underwrite bridging loan applications in line with internal credit policy
• Analyse borrower profiles, property security, exit strategies and supporting documentation
• Review valuation reports, legal due diligence and professional advice
• Prepare clear credit recommendations and underwriting rationales
• Manage cases end-to-end from enquiry to drawdown
• Liaise regularly with brokers, solicitors, valuers and internal teams to progress transactions
• Maintain accurate case records and support service-level delivery

What we are looking for:

• Experience underwriting bridging or short-term property finance
• Strong understanding of UK property lending and credit risk principles
• Good commercial judgement and attention to detail
• Confident communicator able to manage external relationships
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously under time pressure
