Credit Controller
Pershore Full-time, Permanent £37,000 DOE
We're working with a leading construction business that is seeking a skilled and proactive Credit Controller to strengthen their finance team. This is a pivotal role where you'll be at the heart of the company's cash flow, ensuring projects run smoothly and suppliers, subcontractors, and clients are managed effectively.
In construction, every payment keeps projects moving, and as Credit Controller, you'll not only oversee credit and collections but also build lasting relationships with clients across the industry. Alongside credit management, you'll also have the opportunity to broaden your expertise into Payroll, supporting site teams and office staff alike.
What You'll Be Doing
Credit Management
- Oversee credit control for a diverse client base within the construction sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and site managers to ensure smooth cash flow.
- Track, report, and reduce overdue balances, keeping projects on budget.
- Provide clear reporting and insights to senior management to drive smarter financial decisions.
- Identify opportunities to improve credit and collections processes.
- Manage end-to-end weekly and monthly payroll via SAGE 50.
- Process new starter paperwork, issue contracts, and handle site-based queries such as holiday pay and sick leave.
- Support both site operatives and office teams with payroll-related needs.
Experience in credit control (ideally within construction, contracting, or a similar fast-paced industry).
Strong communication and negotiation skills - you'll be confident dealing with site managers, suppliers, and clients.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
High attention to detail with solid problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in finance and payroll systems (SAGE 50 preferred).
Ability to work independently and thrive in a busy, project-driven environment.
Why Join?
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic sector like construction where no two days are the same. You'll be joining a growing business with a collaborative culture, where your work directly supports projects being delivered on time and within budget.
