Are you looking for your first role in Finance in a busy but rewarding sector?

This role supports operational and clinical teams with financial insight that helps them deliver high-quality patient care in a sustainable way. You'll work closely with managers across the organisation, helping them understand their budgets, activity levels, and key cost drivers. It's a great stepping-stone into business partnering for someone who enjoys numbers, problem-solving, and building strong working relationships.

Main duties of the job Principle Responsibilities will Include:
  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts for designated service/contract areas.
  • Provide clear analysis on variances, cost pressures, trends, and opportunities.
  • Help develop short- and long-term forecasts, ensuring they reflect operational activity and service plans.
  • Assist in preparing budget reports and contribute to the annual budgeting process.
Business Partnering
  • Work with clinical and operational teams, helping them understand financial information and make informed decisions.
  • Support managers in identifying efficiencies, productivity improvements, and areas of overspend.
  • Build strong relationships with non-finance teams, acting as a trusted advisor.
Reporting & Data
  • Maintain accurate financial information and ensure data integrity throughout all reporting.
  • Prepare dashboards, KPI reports, and financial summaries for internal meetings.
  • Help ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and healthcare sector financial regulations.
  • Contribute to improving financial processes and reporting tools.
  • Support finance colleagues with contracts, audits, and system enhancements.

Skills and Experience
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence with financial data.
  • Ability to explain financial information in a clear and friendly way.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • Experience in the healthcare or public sector environment.
  • Knowledge of financial controls, budgeting cycles, and management accounts.
  • Familiarity with costing, activity-based reporting, or service line information.
Qualifications
  • Studying towards AAT, ACCA , CIMA (or equivalent).

£25,000 to £27,000 a year, depending on qualifications.
