Role Overview

This is a full‑time Payroll Administrator position based in the Brighton office, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 17.30, with a one hour lunch break. The role is on a fixed term contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent. You will join a fast‑paced payroll team, delivering a timely and accurate service to a diverse client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll from start to finish in a timely and accurate manner
  • Create and maintain detailed payroll records
  • Calculate part‑month payments and holiday pay
  • Manage statutory payments and process P45s
  • Liaise with clients and clarify payroll calculations where necessary
  • Manage client pension schemes across multiple providers, including set‑up and monthly uploads
  • Ensure compliance with current payroll legislation and best practice
  • Use Sage, STAR and Xero payroll software
Requirements
  • Experienced payroll professional with strong technical capability
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Strong data entry and record‑keeping ability
  • Competence in Excel
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision after initial training
  • Confidence communicating with colleagues and clients across all mediums
  • Good IT literacy and confidence using payroll software systems
  • Methodical and organised approach
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
  • Calmness under pressure when managing a busy workload
  • Reliability, honesty and professionalism
  • A minimum of five GCSEs at grades A–C, including Maths and English (legal right to work in the UK required)
