Role OverviewThis is a full‑time Payroll Administrator position based in the Brighton office, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 17.30, with a one hour lunch break. The role is on a fixed term contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent. You will join a fast‑paced payroll team, delivering a timely and accurate service to a diverse client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Process payroll from start to finish in a timely and accurate manner
- Create and maintain detailed payroll records
- Calculate part‑month payments and holiday pay
- Manage statutory payments and process P45s
- Liaise with clients and clarify payroll calculations where necessary
- Manage client pension schemes across multiple providers, including set‑up and monthly uploads
- Ensure compliance with current payroll legislation and best practice
- Use Sage, STAR and Xero payroll software
- Experienced payroll professional with strong technical capability
- Excellent numerical skills
- Strong data entry and record‑keeping ability
- Competence in Excel
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision after initial training
- Confidence communicating with colleagues and clients across all mediums
- Good IT literacy and confidence using payroll software systems
- Methodical and organised approach
- Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
- Calmness under pressure when managing a busy workload
- Reliability, honesty and professionalism
- A minimum of five GCSEs at grades A–C, including Maths and English (legal right to work in the UK required)
- 25 days annual leave, plus bank and public holidays
