Financial ControllerAre you a commercially minded Financial Controller who thrives on ownership, control and continuous improvement?
I'm partnering with a well-established, complex manufacturing business to recruit a Financial Controller for a key operational site. This is a high-impact role offering real ownership of the financial control environment, cash position and statutory reporting, alongside the opportunity to lead and develop a capable finance controls team.
Reporting directly into the Finance Director, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring robust financial governance with no surprises. You'll sit at the heart of the business, building strong relationships across operations, central finance and group entities, and driving best-in-class reporting, controls and processes.
This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the detail but also adding strategic value-shaping how finance supports the wider business.
This role offers breadth, influence and visibility. You will:
- Own and continuously strengthen the full financial control environment
- Lead, manage and develop a small finance controls team
- Take clear ownership of cashflow, including live forecasting, variance analysis and working capital management
- Partner with central finance teams to proactively manage AP, AR and intercompany balances
- Deliver accurate, timely monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting in line with group requirements
- Lead the annual budget and forecasting cycle, providing insight to support decision making
- Act as the key point of contact for internal and external auditors
- Support capital investment analysis and post-implementation reviews
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure financial impacts of operational activity are correctly captured
- Drive continuous improvement across finance processes and reporting quality
- Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or QBE
- Strong cash management and working capital experience
- Proven people-management capability, with a supportive leadership style
- Experience operating within a group reporting structure
- A background in manufacturing or a similarly complex operational environment
- High standards, attention to detail, and the confidence to challenge and improve existing processes
- Genuine ownership of the finance control agenda
- Exposure to group reporting and senior stakeholders
- A stable, established business with clear expectations and deadlines
- The chance to make a tangible impact through process improvement and leadership
