Position: Accounts / Credit Control Assistant
Location: Troon

We are looking for an Accounts / Credit Control Assistant to fulfil a temporary contract with our client in Troon.

The successful Accounts / Credit control Assistant will become part of the finance team on a full-time, temporary basis, anticipated to last approximately six months. (with the possibility of extension). This role will be entirely office-based, and having your own transportation is necessary due to the location.

Accounts
  • Conduct daily bank reconciliations
  • Analyse credit card transactions
  • Assist management accountants with month-end closing procedures
  • Post journals, including accruals and prepayments
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support cost analysis and reporting
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure general ledger integrity
  • Undertake additional finance and accounting duties as required
Credit Control
  • Open new cash accounts in the company system
  • Complete the full account application process (including obtaining credit reports, trade references, insurance, and setting up accounts in the company system)
  • Address and log queries, updating the system accordingly, and forward to the relevant team for investigation
  • Communicate with the Council regarding weekly spending
  • Deposit cheques at the bank
Skills & Experience
  • Prior experience in an accounts, finance, or credit control role (essential)
  • Strong numerical and analytical abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident in using Excel and accounting systems (training will be provided as needed)
  • Well‑organised, proactive, and eager to learn
  • Capable of collaborating effectively within a team and meeting deadlines

Contract term: 6 months with possibility of extension

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 9am – 5pm & Friday, 9am – 4pm
