Finance Director

White Horse Employment are delighted to be partnering with a high-growth, international business to recruit a Finance Director. This is a pivotal leadership role within the organisation, offering the opportunity to take full ownership of the end-to-end finance function while working closely with the CEO and wider leadership team to shape strategy, drive performance, and support the next phase of ambitious growth.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will act as the most senior finance leader in the business, overseeing all aspects of financial strategy, performance management, governance, cash stewardship, and operational finance. You will lead a sizeable finance function and play a key role in strengthening financial control, improving processes and systems, and embedding a high-performance culture across the team. The business has recently undergone a period of senior leadership change, meaning you will be joining at a pivotal time as part of a newly formed senior leadership team.

• Full ownership of the end-to-end finance function, including financial reporting, FP&A, cash management, and financial control
• Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, influencing commercial decisions, investment priorities, and growth strategy
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning process, ensuring alignment to business objectives
• Oversee monthly management accounts, board reporting, variance analysis, KPIs, and cash flow reporting
• Drive strong financial governance, control, and compliance across a regulated and international environment (including audit, statutory reporting, and regulatory requirements)
• Own cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, working capital optimisation, and banking relationships
• Support commercial decision-making, including contract negotiation, supplier agreements, and business case evaluation
• Lead finance transformation initiatives, including systems development, automation, and process improvement
• Develop, lead, and inspire a large finance team, embedding a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Ensure robust financial processes across O2C and P2P, alongside oversight of payroll and wider finance operations

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Significant experience in a senior finance leadership role (Finance Director or Head of Finance level)
• Strong background in financial control, reporting, FP&A, and cash management
• Proven experience leading large or multi-functional finance teams
• Experience operating in complex, international or matrix organisations
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and board-level discussions
• Confident working in fast-paced, high-growth environments with a hands‑on approach
• Experience of leading through change and operating in evolving or challenging cultural environments would be highly beneficial
• Experience with in retail, regulated, or consumer-led sectors would be highly advantageous
