An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cash and Banking Specialist to join a forward-thinking organisation in Manchester, offering a competitive salary of £28,000 to £30,000 per annum. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about supporting the delivery of transactional finance services within a modern shared service centre. The company is at the forefront of revolutionising the building services industry, blending technology with customer-driven solutions and a strong commitment to sustainability.

As a Cash and Banking Specialist based in Manchester, you will play a pivotal role in supporting day-to-day finance operations within a dynamic shared service centre. Your responsibilities will span across managing high-volume transactional processes such as payment instructions, reconciliations for both bank accounts and company credit cards, as well as overseeing Direct Debit collections. You will be instrumental in maintaining strong financial controls through diligent bank administration while also preparing essential reports for cash forecasting and management information.

Key duties include:
Process payment instructions, transfers, BACS, and Faster Payments accurately using banking platforms to ensure timely financial transactions across the business. Perform comprehensive bank reconciliations for multiple group company accounts, maintaining accuracy and compliance with internal policies. Manage company credit card reconciliations efficiently, ensuring all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved promptly. Oversee Direct Debit collections according to agreed schedules and mandates, monitoring failed or returned payments and liaising with internal teams and customers to resolve issues swiftly.

Maintain robust bank administration by upholding strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with all relevant procedures and regulations. Prepare internal reports for cash forecasting, daily bank receipts, and management information reporting for key stakeholders across the organisation. Support annual audits by assisting with transaction reviews and preparing documentation for both internal and external auditors as required. To excel as a Cash and Banking Specialist in this Manchester-based role, you will bring proven experience from previous positions involving cash management or shared service functions.

Your background should include hands-on involvement with high-volume transactional processes such as payment processing, multi-account reconciliations, Direct Debit oversight, and audit support. You will possess advanced skills in Microsoft Excel alongside other office applications which enable you to analyse data thoroughly while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. Your interpersonal strengths will shine through your ability to communicate clearly across departments-ensuring smooth collaboration-and deliver outstanding customer service both internally and externally.

Ideally you will be experience in the following areas: A minimum of two years' experience in a cash management role or within a shared service function is essential for success in this position. Proven track record managing cash management processes including multi-account bank reconciliations within high-volume transactional departments.

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel along with other MS Office applications is required to handle complex data analysis tasks efficiently. Strong analytical skills combined with IT confidence enable you to identify issues quickly and implement effective solutions within tight deadlines. Excellent customer service abilities allow you to maintain active communication channels both internally across teams and externally with clients or partners.

Ability to work independently using your own initiative while remaining focused on achieving challenging goals consistently as part of a wider team effort. Experience using financial systems such as Spanner, Open Accounts or Rimilia would be advantageous but not mandatory if you have similar system experience elsewhere. This organisation stands out by leading the way in transforming the building services industry through its innovative use of technology combined with an unwavering focus on sustainability.

Building upon an established legacy yet always looking forward, it offers employees the chance to be part of something truly impactful-a business that values every voice regardless of background or experience.
