Finance Assistant

Location: Worcestershire
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 + Benefits
Hours: Full Time | 40 Hours per Week | Office-Based

The Opportunity

Hewett Recruitment are pleased to be recruiting for a Finance Assistant on behalf of a well-established and growing business. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking for a varied role within a busy finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day financial operations, with responsibilities spanning credit control, accounts administration, payroll support and month-end processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Raising and processing multi-currency sales invoices.
  • Managing the accounts receivable function, including credit control, customer queries and debtor reporting.
  • Conducting customer credit checks and reviewing credit limits.
  • Completing daily bank reconciliations.
  • Supporting month-end activities and financial reporting.
  • Managing stock verification, valuation and reporting.
  • Overseeing the finance inbox and responding to queries.
  • Assisting with weekly payment runs and supplier payments.
  • Processing weekly payroll and supporting pension administration.
  • Assisting with audit preparation and compliance requirements.
The Successful Candidate

You will ideally possess:

  • Previous experience within a finance or accounts environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts, Sage Payroll and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and handling confidential information.
  • An AAT qualification, or equivalent experience, would be advantageous.
