Head of Finance

Venn Group is delighted to be recruiting for a Head of Finance on behalf of a leading international development charity. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance leader to join a complex, mission-driven organisation and play a pivotal role in supporting its strategic objectives and long-term financial sustainability. Leading an integrated finance function across UK and international operations, the successful candidate will provide high-quality financial leadership, oversee financial planning and governance, and partner with senior stakeholders to deliver insight, drive continuous improvement, and support effective decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities Lead organisational financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modelling Provide strategic financial leadership across UK and international programmes Partner with senior stakeholders to support effective decision-making and long-term financial sustainability Ensure robust financial governance, compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting Oversee statutory accounting requirements and relationships with auditors and key external stakeholders Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing finance team Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, processes, reporting, and ways of working Support the development and delivery of the organisation's finance strategy Ideal Candidate Profile Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Significant post-qualification experience in a senior finance leadership role Experience supporting Boards, Audit Committees, and Executive Leadership Teams Strong understanding of financial controls, risk management, governance, and compliance Proven ability to lead change, improve processes, and develop high-performing team Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Previous experience within the charity, not-for-profit, NGO, or international development sector is highly desirable Agency reference number: J97243
