Finance Assistant

Langport | Up to £32,000 | Full Time

Butler Rose is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a well-established and successful Somerset-based business to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their finance team in Langport. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career in finance within a supportive environment that offers exposure across multiple areas of the accounts function. The employer is also happy to support CIMA studies for the right candidate.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role within a close-knit finance team and gain experience across a broad range of financial responsibilities.

Key duties will include:

• Maintaining accurate sales and purchase ledger records
• Processing customer invoices and supplier transactions
• Reconciling ledger accounts and resolving discrepancies
• Assisting with payroll processing and employee records
• Supporting weekly and monthly management accounts preparation
• Assisting with financial reporting, forecasting and audit requirements
• Preparing and checking export documentation
• Liaising with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Providing general support across the finance function as required

Applicants will ideally have:

• Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
• Knowledge of sales ledger, purchase ledger and general accounting processes
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Good Excel and systems skills
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Knowledge of payroll processes or accounting qualifications would be advantageous but is not essential.

• Salary up to £32,000
• Full-time permanent position
• Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
• Office-based role in Langport
• Support towards CIMA studies
