Assistant Finance Manager

Connect Appointments is recruiting an Assistant Finance Manager to join an established business based in Livingston.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership: accounts payable, month-end, VAT returns, reconciliations and management accounts. You'll run the finance function independently when the Finance Manager is away, so it suits someone who's taken a full set of accounts from start to finish rather than worked purely transactionally.

As an Assistant Finance Manager, your duties will include:

Managing accounts payable, supplier payments, expenses and reconciliations
Completing month-end procedures including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
Preparing monthly management accounts, variance analysis, KPI and cash flow reports
Preparing VAT returns and supporting reconciliations
Performing bank reconciliations and supporting budgeting, forecasting and year-end audits
Covering the finance function during the Finance Manager's absence

To be considered as an Assistant Finance Manager, you will need:

A minimum of 3 years' experience in a finance or accounting role
Hands-on experience preparing a full set of accounts independently is essential
Practical experience of month-end procedures and VAT returns
Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail
AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA or CIMA is desirable

Experience with Microsoft Navision or Business Central is an advantage
