Environment Protection Officer
We are recruiting a full‑time Environment Protection Officer on a permanent basis. SEPA is passionate about protecting our environment and delivers projects that make a difference for Scotland.
Responsibilities- Deliver compliance monitoring and enforcement of a third of the 693 reservoirs under the Reservoirs (Scotland) Act 2011 to ensure safety downstream of the sites
- Continue the momentum of the enforcement campaign to drive up compliance and reservoir safety
- Provide advice, support and guidance to reservoir managers and engineers
- Contribute to SEPA’s transformational change to improve productivity
- Relevant experience or qualification equivalent to a minimum HND / SCQF Level 8‑10
- Technical knowledge/experience of enforcement and/or environmental regulation
- Ability to provide advice and guide others on the resolution of issues and proven problem‑solving capability
- Ability to understand and interpret policy and give detailed guidance, advice or information to others
- Ability to deal with challenging situations in a professional manner
