Environmental Health Officer

Location: Freiston

Environmental Health Officers x4 West Midlands Duration: 3-6 months Rate: £350p/d Umbrella Inside IR35 Hybrid working , most the team will work 2/3 days in the office, the rest from home. Attendance in the office a couple of days per week would be preferred as we have apprentices who require support and exposure to experience officers. The key requirement is availability to conduct inspections in the area 5 days per week.

We often get urgent jobs come in that we may need immediate response to, so even if working from home, being able to get into the area Mon-Fri is required Our client is looking to recruit four experienced Senior Environmental Health Officer (SEHO) contractors to support existing Private Sector Housing work streams. The key requirement is strong and demonstrable experience in housing enforcement and private sector housing regulation.

We are looking for officers who can quickly integrate into a busy enforcement team and undertake complex casework with minimal supervision. Workload includes:
Damp and mould investigations, including detailed property assessments and proactive intervention to protect tenant health. Housing Act enforcement, including Improvement Notices, Emergency Remedial Action (ERA) and Emergency Prohibition Orders (EPO) where required. Serious disrepair investigations and enforcement action. HMO licensing, compliance inspections, proactive HMO investigations and associated enforcement. Civil penalties and prosecution case preparation. Illegal eviction and landlord harassment investigations, Requirements:
Ideally, one of the four officers should have experience of high-rise and medium-rise residential buildings, including building safety, fire safety considerations, inspections of common parts, and working with Responsible Persons/managing agents (They are commencing a project reviewing fire safety in medium-rise accommodation) Highly experienced housing EHOs with a strong enforcement background Relevant qualifications and memberships required If you have the above experience and are looking for your next contract opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
