Key Responsibilities:
- Nutrition & Hydration: Serving meals, helping patients eat, and providing drinks.
- Emotional Support: Talking to patients, reassuring them, and providing companionship.
- Environmental Maintenance: Keeping patient areas clean, tidy, beds made, and sterilizing equipment.
- Clinical Assistance: Supporting nurses in clinics, assisting with basic wound care, and preparing exam areas (depending on training).
- Communication: Liaising with patients, families, and the wider healthcare team.
- Stock Management: Checking and ordering medical supplies.
- Personal Care: Assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and changing positions.
- Patient Monitoring: Taking and recording vital signs (temp, pulse, BP, weight).
- Mobility Support: Helping patients move around, get out of bed, and use equipment.
