An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Orthopaedic team, primarily based in our Outpatient Department. As the Lead Orthopaedic Practitioner, you will have direct responsibility for the proficient application and removal of a variety of casting materials. You will supervise Orthopaedic Technicians across three sites, ensuring patients receive a professional, efficient, and compassionate service.

The role is full time (Monday to Friday 08:30–17:30, with part-time considered) and requires travel across sites:
Royal Sussex County Hospital (Major Trauma Centre), Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, and Sussex Orthopaedic Treatment Centre at Princess Royal Hospital.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead consultant‑ and practitioner‑led outpatient clinics, including Virtual Fracture and Virtual Hand Fracture Clinics.
  • Provide plaster services to orthopaedic inpatients.
  • Support the competency‑based training, continuous professional development, health and wellbeing of the Orthopaedic Practitioner team.
  • Collaborate on improvement projects and knowledge sharing as required.
