Support Practitioner

Overview

Would you love a new part-time job in 2026 where you get the chance to shine? We’re looking for two new colleagues to join our amazing #Team Glenorchy in Lennoxtown on a permanent, part-time (30 hours per week) basis.

As a Support Practitioner, you’ll become part of a friendly, fun, and dedicated team who supports five individuals with various support needs who live in their shared home. You’ll help with all aspects of daily living and also support with hobbies and interests.

About you:

we don’t recruit on experience and qualifications; we’re more interested in what you bring to the team. We’ll pay you for training and provide practical skills to be successful, including funding your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) and yearly SSSC registration fees.

• Help individuals with daily living activities, including shopping, finances, meal preparation, personal care, and housework.
• Support with hobbies and interests, including holidays, football, socialising, singing, and other activities.
• Work as part of a team to deliver person-centred support tailored to each individual’s needs.
• Attend to shift patterns and contribute to a positive, supportive home environment.

• The ability to cook (baking would be a bonus)

If you don’t live in the Lennoxtown area and are not a driver, you should be able to travel to our service as there are limited public transport links that fit with shift patterns.

Shifts usually fall within the hours of 07:00–22:00. Sleepovers, waking nights, weekends and public holidays may be part of the rota on a rotational basis. Sleepover shifts are paid in addition to contracted hours.

Please note:

If you have spent more than 12 months out of the UK (with some exceptions) within the last 10 years and are over 18, you may be asked to provide a criminal record certificate as part of pre-employment checks.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and work towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with support from our Training Academy. If you’re successful, please register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting employment.
