Position

This post creates an opportunity for a highly motivated Mental Health Nurse to work within the Community Mental Health Teams for Elderly (CMHTE) based in East Ayrshire.

What you will do

You will provide assessment, care, support and interventions to older adults with a range of mental health issues, working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team in partnership with primary care, community services, social work and third sector.

Post diagnostic support will be delivered to patients newly diagnosed with dementia.

You will work as part of an integrated environment, placing the older person and their carers at the forefront, and will collaborate with colleagues to provide high‑quality care.

Knowledge, training and experience required

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; a comprehensive knowledge of care for older people with mental health problems; organisational skills; and the ability to work as part of a team.

You must be registered as a Mental Health Nurse on Part 3 of the NMC Register, hold a degree or relevant postgraduate qualification, and have experience relevant to the post.

The post holder will be based in Rothesay House, Cumnock, within the East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership.

Hours

37 hours per week.

A car owner / UK driving licence is essential

A full UK/EU/EEA driving licence is required; the licence must be held in full, not provisional.
