Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Oakfield House School Salwick, North West PR4 0YH
Salary: Up to £53,200 FTE DOE
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 8.30am – 4.30pm
Contract: Permanent (Term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on your personal circumstances)
Essential: Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
Role and ResponsibilitiesIn a world where the demand for clinical support is increasing daily, your unique skills and expertise are critical to building better outcomes for our pupils. We aim to have a multidisciplinary clinical team for each site to provide vital provision in collaboration with education teams, creating an environment where our pupils can flourish and grow in independence.

The Role — We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Oakfield House School. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, guiding practice within an education setting and clarifying roles and responsibilities, while taking into account the requirements of governing and professional bodies.
You will be given responsibility for holding a Speech and Language Therapy caseload, with full support of your designated clinical supervisor and site lead, and will also contribute to staff training and consultation as required. This post would suit a resilient, creative and enthusiastic individual.

Location and OrganisationLocation:
Oakfield House School, Salwick. Oakfield House School forms part of our Options Autism brand, an independent specialist day school supporting children and young people aged 4–12.
- Degree or Masters in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registered
- Some relevant experience in engaging with individuals with complex and diverse communication profiles
- Some knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice
- Experience of multi-disciplinary working in a range of settings
- Experience communicating with/working with families, relatives and carers
- Interest in developing knowledge and skills in different areas of SaLT practice
- Good relationship-building, analytical and judgmental skills
- Good communication skills (oral and written)
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Competent in core SaLT areas with understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
- Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools, intervention types, and how to formulate support plans based on needs
