Overview

Responsibilities
  • Deliver bespoke Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs, working collaboratively with the education team.
  • Follow the standards provided in the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working to guide practice within an education setting and clarify roles and responsibilities while aligning with governing and professional bodies.
  • Hold an occupational therapy caseload with the full support of a designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
  • Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
  • Support a person-centred, empowering approach in line with safeguarding values and the aims of the organisation.
  • Engage with a network of over 350 clinical colleagues with regular forums for peer reflection and practice development.
  • Support the wider safeguarding culture in all settings and ensure pupils are heard, respected, and involved in decisions that affect them.
Qualifications
  • BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy; HCPC registration valid and up to date.
  • Registered member of RCOT.
  • Relevant experience in providing occupational therapy services within a similar setting (preferable).
  • Experience with neurodivergent individuals or those with learning difficulties and/or socio-emotional and mental health difficulties; evidence of transferable skills.
  • Sound knowledge and clinical understanding of OT theory and its practical application to support independence.
  • Experience of multi-professional work with teams or services within the designated specialty (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently, be flexible, and confident.
  • Clear and concise report writing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence with access to a car.
  • Interest in sensory integration or sensory-informed practice (SI training in progress or completed is preferable, but not essential).
