We are excited to recruit a Band 8a Clinical Psychologist into Lincolnshire Complex Needs Service.

Utilising NHS England Health and Justice funding Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) and Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) have successfully developed a psychology-led consultation, training, assessment and intervention model of working to enable staff working with young people with the most complex needs access timely psychological consultation and formulation, with follow on support as needed. Using a trauma-informed approach they help staff consider the impact of developmental trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE's) on a young person's emotional and/or behavioural presentation so that staff can tailor their interventions accordingly and/or identify any additional service/professional who needs to become involved.

This allows the right support to be offered at the right time, by the right people.

Therefore, we are ideally looking for an enthusiastic, trauma-informed Clinical Psychologist who already has experience of working with Children in Care and those in contact with Criminal Justice Services who is keen to support our developing service with the provision of support to Lincolnshire professionals who work with CYP. We are looking for someone able to offer formulation and consultation to a range of professionals and agencies as well as experience of providing clinical psychology assessments and interventions to CYP, their families and carers.

Please note the interview date is 10 March 2026.

Main duties of the job

The post is a county-wide, part‑time, fixed‑term post for 2 years, so the ability to travel across the county is essential. Whilst no guarantee can be given about the minimum amount of travel necessary in this post, we will be working together as a team to try to reduce the need to travel either to a limited number of days per week, or across a smaller geographical patch.

There will be an expectation for face‑to‑face work with CYP and their carers and families where this is indicated. Your work base will be Sleaford Area Office, Eastgate, Sleaford. Some of the current work duties may be possible to complete from home using video and internet functions.

Supervision is offered to all LPFT employed staff and CPD is actively encouraged. LPFT CYP Services have a robust Training Plan in place to ensure all staff are able to provide evidence‑based assessments and interventions.

The Complex Needs Service will have close connections with all LPFT and LCC's CYP Services and the psychologist will be part of a county‑wide Child Psychological Therapies provision which includes psychological services to Core CAMHS; CAMHS Eating Disorder Service; CAMHS Learning Disabilities Service;
