PERMANENT - Social Services Complaints Officer – Powys County Council
Salary: £46,000 per year
Type: Permanent, 37 hours/week
Powys County Council is seeking a Social Services Complaints Officer to manage, investigate, and report complaints, representations, and compliments related to Children’s and Adult Social Services. This is a key role in ensuring statutory compliance, improving service quality, and supporting both staff and service users.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage all aspects of complaint handling within statutory time frames.
- Advise managers and mediate to resolve complaints effectively.
- Maintain and update policies and procedures in line with Welsh Government guidance.
- Ensure safeguarding considerations are applied throughout complaint investigations.
- Support service improvement through reporting and feedback integration.
- Experience in social services or social work.
- Experience handling formal complaints.
- Strong understanding of legislation including Social Services and Well-being Act (Wales) 2014, Human Rights Act, Data Protection Act.
