The role of Clinical Specialist Sonographer at the Royal Free Hospital is a vital one, encompassing a wide range of responsibilities within the Group Clinical Services division. Positioned at the 8a salary band, this role requires a high level of expertise in sonography and offers the opportunity to work across multiple sites including Royal Free, Barnet, Chase Farm and peripheral sites.

The position is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high‑quality diagnostic imaging services, contributing significantly to patient care and clinical outcomes.

• Perform a diverse range of sonographic procedures with a high degree of proficiency and autonomy.
• Maintain the highest standards of patient care and implement best practices in sonography.
• Contribute to the development of protocols and guidelines.
• Actively participate in multidisciplinary teams, offering expert advice and support in sonographic matters.
• Provide education and training for team members and the broader professional community.
• Support consultant sonographers and managers as part of an advanced Band 8a role.
• Rotate through Barnet, Chase Farm, Edgware and satellite hospitals as required by service needs.
