Are you an aspiring Health and Safety professional looking for the opportunity to kickstart a lucrative career?

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive Assistant Health & Safety Advisor to support the delivery of a robust health and safety framework across our London civil engineering operations.

This role will partner with operational and corporate stakeholders to ensure legal compliance, strengthen governance, and embed a positive safety culture. The successful candidate will provide pragmatic advice, lead risk management activity, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on UK health and safety legislation and best practice.
  • Support the implementation of the Health & Safety strategy and improvement plans.
  • Conduct and review risk assessments across office and operational environments.
  • Lead investigations into incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
  • Carry out audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Monitor KPIs and produce clear reports for senior leadership.
  • Support contractor management, fire safety, and emergency preparedness arrangements.
  • Deliver training, briefings, and awareness sessions to promote a strong safety culture.

About You

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role within a corporate or commercial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
  • Confident conducting audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • IOSH membership (or working towards) desirable.
