Band 3 - £28,011 - £30,230 pro rata
Plus £1,406 Distant Island Allowance pro rata

We are currently recruiting for a Domestic Supervisor to join our Domestic Services Team at the Uist and Barra Hospital, Balavanich, Isle of Benbecula, HS7 5LA
.
The successful candidate will be required to provide an efficient and high-quality domestic service to patients and staff, following a specific schedule of work relating to defined areas. Duties include day-to-day supervision of Domestic Assistants, ensuring adequate staffing cover within the wards and departments, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Supervisory experience is desirable, however full training will be given. A degree of flexibility is required; this post involves evening work and an occasional requirement to work at other outlying NHS Western Isles Health Board sites.
Shift times are 3pm to 7pm. Driving Licence is essential for this post.
Tasks include monitoring all areas of our hospital’s clinical and non-clinical locations. Activities will include training staff to use cleaning equipment, ensuring staff have completed all statutory and mandatory training, and employing a flexible approach to daily routines. Economic and safe use of cleaning agents will follow manufacturers’ recommended instructions. Protective clothing is supplied by the Department, and all daily/weekly sign‑off sheets for areas must be completed.
The successful candidate will need to achieve the Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers and comply with the Code of Conduct within three months of full‑time employment or up to six months for part‑time workers. For further information see
