The Medical Group is looking for an experienced receptionist to join the practice team to cover the Extended Access Service, working 20 hours a week 5-9pm.
Main duties of the jobTo receive, assist and care navigate patients to accessing the appropriate service or health care professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
About usThe Medical Group is a large practice spread across 6 sites, 5 of which are clinical and 1 housing our office staff. We are a friendly team caring for 26,000 patients and we are seeking an experienced receptionist to work at our main site based at Meadowfield.
Job responsibilities Extended hours specific roles:- Arriving patients and code appointment on Systm One
- Collect details from appointments and record them on an excel spreadsheet
- Ensure the clinical staff have everything they need (in allocated Fed boxes)
- Ensure stock is in date, rotating as needed to ensure they are used before the expiry date
- Check samples to ensure patient details are correct before going to the lab
- Liaise with courier when needed
- Chaperone
- Report any out of hours concerns to Federation Operations Manager
- Inform federation if any TMG stock is used
- Inform federation if any emergency drugs are used
- Support clinical staff where needed
- Ensure mobile phones & dermatoscope are fully charged
- At the end of the shift, ensure all rooms are tidy, bins emptied where needed, lights off and doors/cupboards locked.
- Secure building & set alarm before leaving
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Excellent organisational skills
- Basic knowledge of general protocols and procedures relating to reception / admin duties
- Good standard of general education
- 5 GCSE grade A-C or equivalent
- Word Processing / IT
- NVQ Customer Service
- Customer care
- Experience of working with people / general public
- Practical experience of Systm One use
- Experience of working in a GP Surgery
