We'd like you to join us as an Activities Coordinator at our service Murdostoun in Wishaw.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Activities Coordinator to join our friendly and experienced team working within our Neurological Care Center.

We provide individualised assessment and intensive rehabilitation to help people recover from a brain injury. At all times we work to achieve the best possible outcomes in terms of independence and quality of life.

Murdostoun Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre provides specialist care for up to 46 residents at any one time.

We have a minibus for appointments and some fun outings and a state‑of‑the‑art therapy pool, which allows our residents to focus on re‑gaining cognitive abilities that may have been lost. A specially designed therapy kitchen allows users to learn new skills that will serve them long after they have left our care. We also have a gymnasium where all residents are encouraged to keep themselves active and socialise with others.

We are extremely proud to be accredited as an approved provider of specialist Brain Injury Care by the Headway Brain Injury Association.

What you'll be working:

36.25 hours per week

Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

Occasional Saturday or Sunday

What you'll be doing:
  • Social activity Co‑ordinator will be responsible for planning, organising a variety of social and recreational activities for individuals, groups or residents in care settings.
  • To collaborate with team members, manage resources and ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for participants.
  • This role requires excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as creativity and attention to detail.
  • Creating events and activities tailored to the needs of participants.
  • Facilitating participation: encouraging engagement and participation in activities, ensuring that everyone can participate comfortably.
  • Collaboration:

    working with care staff, healthcare professionals.
  • Supporting well‑being: providing activities that promote physical, mental and social health.
  • This role is essential for fostering social interaction and enhancing the quality of life for those they support.
What you'll have:
  • Candidates will ideally have an interest and experience in running groups.
  • You will understand the value of activity and structure in an acute rehabilitation setting.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS.
