Job Summary
Aseptic Services Assistant – 12 Month Fixed Term. The position is for a fixed‑term, 12‑month Band 2 Aseptic Services Assistant working to support senior assistants, a team of assistants, senior technicians and pharmacists who deliver a safe, effective and high‑quality service to our patients at the GWH.
The successful candidate will be involved in cleaning the aseptic suite, delivery of chemotherapy and stock maintenance within our newly built clean‑room facility.
We’re looking for a team player with good interpersonal skills, able to work within a clean‑room controlled environment with good literacy, numerical and computer skills. Previous training and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice would be advantageous; training and competency assessment in aseptic skills will be provided.
Main duties of the job- Support the Aseptic Services Team in the effective, safe and efficient day‑to‑day running of the Pharmacy Aseptic Services Unit (PASU).
- Assist with stock maintenance, including receipt, storage, rotation and accurate record‑keeping of materials used within PASU.
- Carry out routine cleaning tasks and environmental upkeep to maintain a compliant clean‑room environment.
- Support the preparation and delivery of aseptically prepared or dispensed doses to clinical areas in a timely and accurate manner.
- Work within clean‑room facilities, adhering to all gowning, hygiene and environmental control requirements.

Qualifications Essential- Knowledge of procedures for Aseptic Services – on‑the‑job training.
- Working towards NVQ2 or equivalent.
- Managing own workload to meet the needs of a service.
- Working within a team.
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience.
- Previous aseptic preparation experience.
- Previous clean‑room environment experience.
- Stock control and rotation.
