Overview
HMP Warren Hill is a category C male prison, located in Suffolk and is the first ‘whole’ prison to be awarded EE (Enabling Environment) status. It is a small prison, housing approximately 260 residents, and comprises of three services: A Therapeutic Community, a Progression Regime, and a Progression PIPE. The PIPE service offers 20 spaces to residents who have engaged in high intensity treatment, and forms part of the national suite of services within the NHS and HMPPS Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Strategy.
Responsibilities- Developing a culture that promotes a ‘planned’ and ‘psychologically informed’ response
- Overseeing the referral and assessment process
- Helping the staff working on the unit work with residents following a formulation led approach
- Working closely with operational leads to deliver supervision and the weekly programme of activities
- Developing and implementing socially creative activities/sessions
- Contributing to the national programme of PIPE service development, and attending national clinical business meetings as required
- To design and deliver in house training and development of PIPE unit staff as required
- Managerial/leadership responsibilities (if appropriate)
Working on the PIPE provides the opportunity to work closely with residents and staff, and to develop the service using your own ideas and the creativity of the PIPE community. It allows development of clinical skills, with the additional support of monthly PIPE Clinical Leads group supervision and National Clinical Leads Business Meetings.
