Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist

Location: Heath Farm School – Ashford, TN27 0AX

Salary: Up to £53,200 (FTE) DOE (pro rata)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 8.30am - 4.30pm

Contract: Fixed Term – 12 months, Term Time Only

The role

Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. Work in close collaboration with the education team, following the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working. Hold a dedicated S< caseload, provide staff training and consultation as required, and contribute to multidisciplinary team development.

Essential Criteria
  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registered and registered with RCSLT
  • Experience working with individuals with complex communication profiles
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice
  • Experience in multi‑disciplinary settings
  • Experience communicating with families, relatives and carers
  • Interest in developing knowledge and skills in different areas of SaLT practice
  • Strong relationship‑building, analytical and judgement skills
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Good time‑management and organisational skills
  • Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
  • Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools and formulation of support plans
  • Knowledge of legislation relevant to clinical practice and client group
  • Collaboration with the multi‑disciplinary team
  • Willingness to attend training and pursue further qualifications
Desirable
  • Understanding of sensory and motor differences impacting communication
  • Understanding of the relationship between arousal levels and communication
  • Full driving licence and access to a car (Highly Desirable)
