Job Overview
We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated Housekeeping Assistant to join our award‑winning team at Greenholme House Care Home in Burley in Wharfedale. The successful candidate will work as part of a team to maintain high standards of cleanliness and laundry across the home, ensuring all procedures meet our hotel‑style service expectations.
Job ResponsibilitiesYour focus will be to work as part of a team, ensuring that all standards of cleanliness and laundry are maintained in the home. You will operate according to our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, ensuring that hotel service standards are met.
- Carry out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
- Understand cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials to keep all areas well presented and maintained in good condition.
- Ensure that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.
- Perform all laundering duties.
- Follow wash guide instructions and laundering requirements of a wide range of textiles.
To succeed in this role you will embody our values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful and accountable in all you do.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
- Experience cleaning laundry in a public setting.
- Demonstrate compassion and commitment to delivering high‑quality housekeeping/laundry service to residents.
- Ability to adapt and be flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
Please note this role will require:
- ADBS Disclosure check, the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
- This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
