Care Assistants in Nursing Home

Job description:

• Healthcare assistants to join our Nursing home based in Darenth, DA2 area, 60 Service Users
• Job Types: Permanent, Full-time, hours: 42–44 per week
• Salary: £12.72 per hour

We recruit only care assistants able to work full-time, no students or skilled workers. Own transportation is desirable due to the location of the care home.

• Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting and assisting Residents when required with all aspects of daily living
• Assist Residents in all aspects of their care needs, e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual
• Provide supervision and attention when needed, ensuring Residents retain their comfort and dignity
• Observe care planning needs for Residents and complete daily records as instructed
• Assist in the framework of social activities by interacting with Residents and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the Care Centre
• Answer the Nurse Call system, giving assistance as required
• Answer the door and telephone appropriately
• Respond accordingly, and pass on messages promptly
• Report on the well‑being of Residents
• Clean and maintain equipment used by Residents and relatives e.g. wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles etc

• Experience in a similar role for one year, as added in the CV
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Team player
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Previous experience of working with the relevant Service User group
