As our Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Advisor, youll help shape Riverfords future. Riverfords range of H&S risks is extensive, reflecting the breadth of our business. For example, we have production facilities, farms, a restaurant, public events, a large fleet of vehicles and numerous delivery hubs across England and Wales.
You certainly wont be bored! The business has grown a lot in recent years, and we employ about 1000 people. We are now looking for an additional experienced H&S practitioner to support our Health and Safety Manager. In recent years, weve worked hard to develop a robust H&S management system and nurture a positive culture. The challenge now is to further develop and embed a fully integrated approach across Health, Safety, Environment, Food Safety and Quality.
You will support the continued development, implementation and maintenance of this integrated Management System, ensuring it remains practical, aligned to operational needs and drives continuous improvement. This role is primarily HSE-focused, with integrated FSQ responsibilities, supporting a joined-up approach to compliance and performance. Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 per annum d.o.e Location

Skills and Experiences At least 3 years relevant experience of health and safety in a similar advisory role within a multi-site, diverse organisation.
Experience gained in a production environment is desirable.
Experience of building effective working relationships with managers and stakeholders, providing practical guidance, challenge and support to improve standards and accountability. Experienced and skilled at advising, coaching, communicating and influencing at all levels within an organisation, with experience of supporting managers across a multi-site business and driving health and safety change.
Experience of providing pragmatic environmental management advice, supporting compliance, continuous improvement and good operational practice across a diverse business. Good IT skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Possess a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent level 6 H&S qualification Desirable
- Certified membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) or working towards chartered status. Desirable - NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate or equivalent fire safety qualification. Desirable
- Environmental qualification or membership, such as NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate or IEMA, or equivalent practical experience. In-depth knowledge of risk management, health and safety legislation, codes of practice and their pragmatic application.
