We are looking for Band 6 Occupational Therapists to join our Bank OT workforce, supporting a variety of services across our four hospital sites. The role offers flexible shifts across several locations depending on service demand.

• Work independently as an autonomous practitioner providing specialist assessment and intervention for individuals with physical, cognitive, social or perceptual deficits impacting functional ability and safety.
• Maintain a proactive approach to rehabilitation, ensuring timely discharges with a “Home First” mindset.
• Collaborate closely with physiotherapy colleagues and the wider multi-disciplinary team, providing formal and informal clinical support.
• Work flexibly across the different Occupational Therapy teams.
• Supervise and provide leadership for junior and senior staff, as well as students on placement.
• Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated specialist team.

• Professional qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• HCPC registered.
• Evidence of recent and relevant Continuing Professional Development.

• Knowledge of the role of an acute OT across a range of settings and use of assessment, treatment and rehab interventions for patients.
• Varied post‑graduate experience in a range of settings.
• Experience assessing and formulating treatment plans for patients with complex physical, psychological, emotional, sensory and social needs.
• Experience formulating SMART goals to aid rehabilitation, wellbeing and discharge planning.
• Experience of using appropriate listening/counselling skills when working with patient/family/carers.
• Experience working as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist.

• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Clinical reasoning and prescription of equipment to assist ADLs and adaptations in the home setting.
• Managing under pressure and responding to rapidly changing demands.
• Coordinating complex discharges and supporting junior staff.
• Clear, concise written and verbal reporting.
• Competence with therapeutic handling of patients with or without aids.
• Presentation and training skills.

• Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, carers and colleagues.
• Reflect on and critically appraise own performance.

• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Responsive and resilient to clinical and non-clinical change.
• Ability to balance and respond effectively to clinical, non-clinical and unplanned situations.

• Evidence of undertaking development to improve understanding of equalities issues.
• Evidence of championing diversity in previous roles.
