Care Assistant

Role Summary

Shift Details: 07:00 AM - 19:00 PM at Avery Healthcare. Care Assistant at Birchmere House Care Home, Solihull. Provide high standards of personal care, working with the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents.

Required:

DBS Disclosure check and proof of eligibility to work in the UK.

• Assist residents in personal hygiene care, ensuring independence and dignity.
• Recognise and understand clinical risk areas such as weight loss, pressure sores, falls, and infections, and report risks promptly.
• Act courteously toward residents and visitors, respecting their dignity and individuality.
• Practice safe systems of work across all tasks.

Additional duties include contributing fully to the care team to maintain continuity of services to residents.

Successful applicants will embody Avery’s values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful and accountable behaviour. Experience is not required; a thorough induction and training programme will be provided.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated initiative and respectful attitude toward residents and colleagues.
• Efficient, able to follow reasonable instructions from other team members.
• Adaptable and flexible, able to cover a range of responsibilities on short notice.
