About the Role

We're looking for people who care about making every moment matter for the people we support in our supported living care services based in Pontypridd.

Job title: Support Worker

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Rhydfelin, Pontypridd

The role of the Support Worker is an opportunity for a proactive person to join an evolving Care Company. We are looking for dedicated and empathetic people. The support team will provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations.

The team will be inducted and trained to support people within our residential home. The people we support require support around their daily living skills, health needs and will have a range of physical and/or learning disabilities.

We require a Support Team who is empathetic and non‑judgmental, someone who has experience in behaviour that can be challenging.

About you

Are you enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to supporting people in a way which respects their dignity?

Experience of supporting people with learning disabilities and/or complex care is preferred but all training will be provided.

In order to undertake this role, it is essential that you hold a valid UK driving licence.

The role
  • To provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
  • Promote the health, well‑being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
  • Facilitate social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as, possibly, elements of personal care.
  • As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.

About the Service

Graig Llwyd is a 6‑bedroom home in Pontypridd. We provide individualised, tailored support to 6 individuals with learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviour.
