My mother is my main carer day to day.

I have a learning disability, and I’ve recently had an operation to treat blood cancer.

I’ve had a Personal Assistant for around 15 years and he’s recently retired, he used to take me out on Wednesday, and I am now seeking a replacement PA. Purpose of the Role I am seeking a PA who can take me out for car journeys and local trips.

This will also provide my mother with some respite.

Hours of Work 6 hours per week {flexible, can be worked in one or two shifts and flexible with the days} Rate of Pay £14.85 per hour plus mileage for journeys we take in the car together Duties and Responsibilities Taking me out in the car Social stimulation and companionship Any other practical tasks as time allows Ensuring my safety at all times Person Specification The successful applicant will be:
Patient and understanding Calm and reliable Car driver/owner with business class insurance Comfortable spending significant time driving About the job Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.

A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.

The wage will be paid two weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check

• which will need to be carried out before employment can commence.

The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
