Salary: £13.25 - £14.84 per hour, dependent on experience.

Contract:

27‑hour contract.

Flexibility required, including alternate weekends.

Job Description

As a Senior Care Assistant at Dean Wood Care Home (Warren Road, Woodingdean, Brighton BN2 6DA
), you will lead a team of Care Assistants, ensuring high‑quality, personal care for residents. You will train on digital care tools, support the nurse with clinical duties, facilitate team handovers, train new staff, build relationships with residents, families and external professionals, and assist residents with personal care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Day‑to‑day responsibility for running a unit
  • Supports clinical duties: observe, issue medication, review care plans, accurate record keeping with the nurse
  • Manages and drives a team of Care Assistants, responsible for all shift handovers
  • Trains and supervises new staff members to ensure they feel welcomed and supported
  • Builds relationships with residents, their families and external teams such as GPs and district nurses
  • Assists residents with a range of personal care duties
Key Skills / Qualifications
  • Completed or working towards NVQ Level 3 in care (Bupa will support further completion if required)
  • Motivated, positive, great interpersonal skills, and comfortable working in a close‑knit team
  • Previous experience in the role and a passion for making a real difference to people’s lives, giving them kindness, personalised support and dignity
