UHSx Histopathology East is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join its busy, friendly Immunocytochemistry (ICC) team.
The Immunocytochemistry department offers an extensive antibody repertoire across two different staining platforms, the Dako Omnis and the Ventana Benchmark Ultra.
Responsibilities- Continuously load and unload specimens across the Omnis and Benchmark platforms to ensure maximum throughput.
- Supervise laboratory assistant staff working within the ICC area.
- Identify and triage urgent cases, troubleshoot technical issues, and monitor stock.
- Participate in quality control checks of all cases leaving the department and escalating any issues to the Senior Specialist BMS.
- Contribute to the quality management system for the department, ensuring compliance with UKAS and Health & Safety regulations.
- HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist with demonstrable registration experience in Histology.
- Extensive background knowledge of routine Histology and competency in microtomy of biopsy material, including skim cores and scanty samples.
- Currently working in a UKAS accredited Cellular Pathology laboratory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
